Holiday Wellness Tips!

Where do the months go? All I can think about is how to keep you... or shall I say, GET YOU, on a healthy path this holiday season..

Yes, there will be plenty of indulgence at times, but please take care of yourself in between.

In the midst of all the Holiday mayhem,

you need rest,

you need comfort,

you need community,

you need warmth,

and you need nutrients to keep you going.

Here are a few of my Holiday Wellness Tips that keep me going with a happy heart.

I like to write out my TO-DO lists and check them off one at a time. That way I get them out of my head, on to paper and I can see their completion! When I feel I haven't accomplished much, those little checks tell me I have!

*******************************

Stay within a budget and get creative with gifts. Please don't go overboard so that credit card bill depresses you in January. A gift from the heart is the best gift of all. Bake or make something. You can also give an experience! Hey who doesn't want a back rub or a makeover!

*******************************

Get enough REST. Yes I'm always pushing SLEEP because it's vital. Our body detoxes and repairs itself while we sleep. If you have trouble sleeping, please be mindful of sweets and booze at night (they definitely disrupt good sleep). You may also need a Magnesium supplement. (It's very helpful for nerves and sleep. It's been a lifesaver for me.)  Also, keep a notepad next to your bed. Our subconscious thoughts can wreak havoc on our sleep, write down what's on your mind if need be and turn off your darn screens an hour before bed.

******************************

Stay nourished! It's so easy to skip meals when we are racing around, or grab take-out all too often. Having a good Bone Broth Protein Powder on hand is a great idea. Make a nourishing smoothie to take with you so you don't end up with an empty energy tank. Stay nourished and keep the grinch away!

********************************

Create community. Personally I need it! Community brings me joy! As an extrovert gathering together feeds my soul. If you are more of an introvert, community is still necessary! My way of creating community, I cook! I make a big pot of soup and I share it. It's warm, comforting and nourishing. Whoever stops by ...or better yet, whoever you invite over will surely love it! Community is vital. Try this Hearty Chickpea & Spinach Stew.

Lastly...be grateful. This season dredges up a lot of stuff for all of us. Let's focus on the good and be grateful for all that we have and all that we are! OK!

Never forget that all the dark can never stop the light from getting thru.

Be the light, share your light and have a beautiful upcoming Holiday season!

Now GoBeWarm and GoBeCozy, yet take a polar plunge or two for me!

Love,
Casey
